Katherine Heiny is the author of Games and Rituals, Early Morning Riser, Standard Deviation, and Single, Carefree, Mellow.

Her short fiction has been published in The New Yorker, The Atlantic, and many other magazines, performed on Selected Shorts, anthologized in Nothing But You: Love Stories from the New Yorker and Best American Short Stories, and long-listed for The Story Prize.

Her novels have appeared on The Sunday Times Bestseller List and have been selected as a Washington Post top 50 Notable Work of Fiction, a New York Times Book Review‘s Recommended Book, a People Top 10 Book of the Year, a Michigan Notable Book, a Kirkus Best Debut Novel, a Kirkus Best Fictional Families Novel, and NPR Great Reads.

Her personal essays have been featured in The New York Times, The Washington Post, The Guardian, The Sunday Times, O Magazine, and Vogue. She’s been a guest on NPR’s Weekend Edition and All Things Considered, BBC’s Bookclub, and Good Morning America’s “Buzz Pick” segment.

Her work has been optioned by Merchant Ivory Productions, HBO, and Bandstand Productions, and her short story “Chicken-Flavored and Lemon-Scented” has been adapted into the DMV TV series on CBS.

She divides her time between Havre de Grace, Maryland and St Paul, Minnesota.
